Supported hardware
92 models, 28 vendors. A list of CAPABILITIES, not an inventory — a device is here because we can read it, not because it sits in someone's network.
This list keeps growing and by design will never be complete. Reading is not written for a specific model — it relies on what the device itself exposes: the vendor interface, SNMP, the command line. So we can potentially support hardware of any brand and any type.
Whether you find a given model below depends on something else entirely: whether we had physical access to it and could examine it. The list grows with every new installation and with every unit that reaches us even briefly — access long enough to describe the device is all it takes. A model missing from this list does not mean we cannot support it; it means we have not seen it yet.
Switches
Cisco CBS350-8FP-E-2G
An eight-port managed switch from the Cisco Business 350 family, PoE+ 120 W and two combo ports. The password is recovered from the boot menu without losing the configuration; SNMPv3 has an engineID pitfall.
Cisco SG300-10MPP
A ten-port managed switch with a 124 W PoE budget. It measures voltage, current and actual draw on every port; vendor support has already ended.
UniFi Switch 16 150W
Sixteen ports for the rack, all with PoE, a 122 W budget. An older model that still runs in many installations.
UniFi Switch 24
Twenty-four ports for the rack, no PoE. It reports the internal temperature and the status of each port, but there is no cable test.
UniFi Switch 48 750W
Forty-eight PoE ports in a single 1U device. The power budget here is a ceiling that cannot be split evenly — and it is the most important number for this model.
UniFi Switch 48
Forty-eight ports plus four fiber ports, no PoE. For places where port count matters and power is supplied separately.
UniFi Switch 8 150W
Eight PoE ports and two SFP, for placing on a shelf or mounting on a wall. Fanless — and noticeably warmer inside than rack models.
UniFi Switch 8 PoE (60W)
An eight-port desktop switch in which only four ports supply PoE. The boundary between them is not visible where you would expect it.
UniFi Switch 16 PoE
Sixteen rack ports, eight of which deliver PoE. Silent — suitable where the rack stands in a room with people.
UniFi Switch 24 PoE
Twenty-four ports, sixteen with power — but the power budget is enough for three access points. That is the most important number for this model.
UniFi Switch Aggregation
Eight 10 Gb/s fiber ports and nothing else. Silent — aggregation for a rack that stands in a room with people.
UniFi Switch Enterprise 24 PoE
A 1U switch with 24 PoE+ ports and two 10G transceiver slots. Half of the ports run at 2.5 Gb/s, although the model name does not reveal it.
UniFi Switch Flex Mini
A five-port desktop switch powered by PoE or USB-C. Small, yet managed by the controller the same way as rack equipment.
UniFi Switch Pro 24 PoE
Twenty-four ports, all with power — but at two different power levels, and the boundary between them is not the one visible on the chassis.
UniFi Switch Pro 48 PoE
Forty-eight PoE ports and four 10G transceiver slots in one rack unit. Eight PoE++ ports sit in the middle of a block that the enclosure does not set apart.
UniFi Switch Pro 48
Forty-eight ports and four 10G transceiver slots in one rack unit, without PoE. From the front almost indistinguishable from the PoE version.
UniFi Switch Aggregation Pro
Thirty-two fiber ports and not a single copper one. The network core, where the links from the other switches converge.
Cisco Catalyst 2960CX-8PC-L
Quiet eight-port switch, PoE+ 124 W. Tests cables, measures actual PoE draw per port, and configures itself from the network after a reset.
Cisco Catalyst 2960-X 48FPD-L
A 48 × PoE+ (740 W) switch with two SFP+ ports. Over SNMP it returns transceiver diagnostics with thresholds — and evaluates them more accurately than its own command line.
Cisco Catalyst 3750-X 12S-S
Twelve SFP ports, stacking with a StackWise cable. It reports transceiver diagnostics in the CLI and over SNMP — over SNMP including laser bias current.
Wi-Fi access points
Cisco Aironet 1562E
An outdoor access point that, in the European domain, has only DFS channels on 5 GHz. It can establish a mesh bridge on 2.4 GHz.
Cisco Aironet 2802i
A Cisco access point with internal antennas and a flexible radio that operates on 2.4 or 5 GHz. It also exposes the coverage quality assessment issued by the controller.
Cisco Aironet 3802e
Four external antenna connectors and a 5 Gb/s port. For places where the radiation pattern has to be chosen, not accepted as the manufacturer shipped it.
Cisco Aironet 4800
A third radio that listens to the whole band instead of serving clients. An access point that can be a spectrum sensor and a network controller at the same time.
Aruba AP-225
An 802.11ac access point that reboots in a loop without a controller. After switching the firmware to Instant it runs on its own and exposes the entire command line over HTTPS.
UniFi U6 Enterprise
Three bands instead of two — it adds 6 GHz, a band free of legacy traffic. From the outside it cannot be told apart from the Long-Range model.
UniFi 6 In-Wall
An access point in a wall box with a built-in four-port switch. The controller sees it as both an access point and a switch at the same time.
UniFi U6 Long-Range
Long-range Wi-Fi 6 access point — a 22 cm disc, resistant to dust and splashing. One port, PoE-powered.
UniFi Access Point U7 Pro XGS
A tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point with a 10 Gb/s port. On plain gigabit and PoE+ power it will not show what it can do.
UniFi AC Lite
The smallest and most power-efficient access point of this family — a 16 cm disc drawing 6.5 W. For places where coverage should be small and dense.
UniFi AC LR
Extended-range Wi-Fi 5 access point, with a power draw of 6.5 W. The PoE standard is worth checking on the specific unit.
UniFi AC Pro
A Wi-Fi 5 access point with two network ports. It passes the link on through the second port, and the controller shows the status of both.
UniFi AP-Long Range
Older-generation access point, 2.4 GHz only, 200 mm in diameter. It is sometimes confused with the newer AP AC Long Range, yet differs from it in everything that matters for a deployment.
UniFi Access Point nanoHD
A small Wi-Fi 5 ceiling access point, 160 mm disc. PoE using the 802.3af standard.
Gateways and network controllers
ASUS RT-AX58U
A home Wi-Fi 6 router in two hardware versions under the same name. The V2 version for Europe is on the list of end-of-support devices — it is suitable as a router behind Starlink, but with all remote services disabled.
UniFi Dream Machine Pro
Gateway, switch, network controller and video recorder in a single 1U housing. It reports 850 parameters — each of its four roles adds its own.
UniFi Dream Machine Special Edition
Gateway, network controller and video recorder in one rack enclosure. It powers eight devices over PoE and accepts an ISP uplink faster than gigabit.

Cameras and recorders
Dahua IPC-HFW2431T-ZS
A Dahua bullet camera with a full CGI API. Saving several settings at once ends in an error that does not name the field — and saves nothing.
Novus NHDR-4116-H2/F
Recorder on the RaySharp platform. The new panel has a JSON API that, after login, returns disks, recording and time — but an ordinary HTTP Digest client bounces off it with code 400.
Novus NVIP-4DN3513H
Tube camera managed only via ONVIF. After switching to DHCP it changes only its address — the gateway and DNS stay from the old network.
Novus NVIP-4DN5002V/IRH-1P
A small Novus dome with a newer ONVIF stack than the brand's tube cameras: it answers nothing without a password, not even a time request. By default it is silent on the network.
Xiongmai X6E-WEQ and IPG-X6-WEQ2
A camera with two lenses, which it delivers as a single stitched image. ONVIF protection is turned on and off by a single flag in the configuration.
Servers and storage
HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen9
A small rack server one unit high. Its iLO 4 management controller shares a port with the system's traffic — one cable carries both data and emergency access.
HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9
A two-rack-unit server with eight drive bays. The iLO 4 management controller has its own port — and stays reachable after a data cable failure.
Synology RackStation RS422+
Four-bay network storage one rack unit high. It returns 673 items over SNMP; SNMPv3 works, although the panel does not always allow enabling it.
QNAP TS-531X
A five-bay NAS on 32-bit ARM. Over SNMP it reports disk temperatures and free space, but not pool usage under snapshots.
Building automation
Schneider Electric SpaceLogic AS-P
A building automation server with two network interfaces. It identifies itself over BACnet, and two addresses on two networks are still one device.
Philips Hue Bridge (2nd generation)
A bridge linking wireless Zigbee lighting with the wired network. Small and easy to overlook — and when unplugged, it takes away control of all Hue lighting.
Schneider Electric SpaceLogic RP-C-16A-F-230V
A room controller with a built-in two-port switch. It has no TCP service at all — it talks only over BACnet/IP.
Swegon GOLD RX (version F)
An air handling unit that, without login, exposes over two thousand points over BACnet/IP — temperatures, fans, filters, energy and alarms.
Network connectivity
Energy
Victron Cerbo GX
Controller for a system with a battery. A single device reports cell status, grid flow, load consumption and solar yield — separately for each phase.
Carlo Gavazzi EM24
A meter that reports voltage, current, active, reactive and apparent power and power factor — separately for each phase. Four modules wide, with full grid analysis inside.
Fronius Symo 3.7-3-S
A three-phase photovoltaic inverter rated 3.7 kW, for wall mounting indoors or outdoors. It reports production and operating state through its own API, without intermediaries.
Industrial devices and consoles
Moxa NPort 5210A
Two RS-232 ports exposed to the network. The device that makes equipment speaking only serial visible on the network along with everything else.
Moxa UC-7101
A small industrial computer with one serial port and one network port. It does not just pass bytes along — it can process them on the way.
Printers
HP Laser MFP 137fnw
A desktop multifunction printer with a document feeder and fax. Inside it is a Samsung design — and that explains where to look for its data.
Sharp MX-B356W
Floor-standing A4 multifunction device, 31 kg. Seven consumables reported in percent, but it will not report the paper level in the main cassette.
