UniFi AC Pro
Ubiquiti · ceiling access point, Wi-Fi 5 · UAP-AC-Pro
what it is
An access point for mounting on the ceiling or on a wall, running Wi-Fi 5 on both bands simultaneously, in a 3 × 3 configuration on each. The enclosure is a white polycarbonate disc 196.7 mm in diameter and 35 mm thick, weighing 350 g.
It has two gigabit ports, not one — unlike the Lite and LR models of this family. The first accepts PoE, the second is a regular network port. In practice this means the access point can be wired in series, or it can pass the link to a device standing nearby without running a second cable to the ceiling. There is also a USB 2.0 port.
Consumption reaches 9 W — half that of a Wi-Fi 6 access point of the same coverage class. The manufacturer includes a PoE injector in the single-unit package.
what we read from it
The full set of radio data, and additionally the port table — access points with a single connection do not have one.
- Channel utilization separately for 2.4 and 5 GHz, broken down into transmit and receive.
- Number of clients separately on each band, operating channel and transmit power.
- Share of retransmitted frames — an indicator of airtime conditions, not of hardware failure.
- Client signal quality: average and worst level, signal-to-noise ratio, lowest connection rate.
- Status of both ports separately: negotiated speed, error and discard counters, spanning tree state and the number of hardware addresses seen on the port. With an access point wired in series, this is the only way to see that the problem is in the second cable run.
- Which device is visible on the other side of each port.
- Status of the link to the switch with the number of the port the access point is plugged into.
port layout
There is no port at all on the visible face. The only element is a glowing ring about 77 mm in outer diameter, exactly in the center of the disc.
All connections are on the ceiling side, in an elongated recess: on one side the port that accepts PoE, on the other the second network port, and between them the reset button and the USB port. A ring-shaped catch for the ceiling bracket runs around the recess.
The manufacturer shows the underside only at an angle: it is known what is there and in what order, but not at what spacing.
what we cannot read
- Temperature — UniFi access points do not report it in any field.
- A client list with names — you see aggregate statistics, not a list of people.
- Spectrum outside its own operating channels. An access point reports what it hears on its own channel; a picture of the whole band requires a separate sensor.
- Whether anything is drawing load from the USB port — the device does not expose this.

These are objects the device itself returns over SNMP (names from MIB files). There are no values here, and no port numbers either.
